Advice
We provide expert advice primarily (although not exclusively) in the areas of contract law, all aspects of business law and commercial law, and all related areas with relevant expertise in business restructuring, corporate transactions, corporate governance, Black Economic Empowerment, debtors and creditors, insolvency, international trade transactions, debt security, finance, employment, property, information technology, telecommunications, and intellectual property.

Disputes
We appreciate that litigation may not always be a cost effective or satisfactory option for clients. In these instances, we use our considerable experience in the areas of mediation, and if necessary, expedited arbitration. We aim to prevent and resolve disputes by providing clients with practical and reliable advice. Our goal is to resolve disputes as quickly and as cost effectively as possible, whilst ensuring the best possible outcomes.
Our experience includes the full spectrum of dispute resolution and litigation mechanisms, ranging from negotiation and mediation to litigating in court or in any arbitration tribunal. Our goal is always to focus on safeguarding our clients’ interests, minimising their risks, and maximising their chances of success in any dispute.
We provide representation in every court in the country, including the High Courts and the Magistrate’s Courts, as well as representation in the CCMA and the Labour Courts for employment related matters. We also represent clients in all manner of arbitrations, most notably arbitrations conducted under the auspices of the Arbitration Foundation of South Africa.
Transactions
We provide expert services for all manner of business and corporate transactions, regardless of their nature, complexity, and commercial value. We assist with the negotiation of transactions; the drafting of clear, concise, easy-to-understand and binding contracts; the reviewing and vetting of draft contracts to ensure that clients’ needs and expectations are met and secured; and the implementation of all transactions from beginning to end.
There is no limit to the type of transactions or contracts we are involved in. These include purchase and sale agreements; finance and lending agreements; commercial property leasing and sales; mergers and acquisitions; licensing, distribution and franchising agreements; agreements relating to Black Economic Empowerment and related benefit trusts; partnership, association and shareholders’ agreements; sale of business and sale of shares agreements, and employment agreements; including restraints of trade, codes of conduct and policies and procedures.
